Mengi Yay Yachts has showcased its flagship motor yacht La Vie for the first time – and she’s gorgeous. The 47.3-metre features an exterior styled by VYD Studio and naval architecture drawn by Ginton Naval Architects.

The Turkish shipbuilder launched La Vie during April of this year, and has since been busy with her outfitting and sea trials.I was lucky enough to visit La Vie during this stage, and Ramazan Mengi, Project Engineer at Mengi Yay Yachts, showcased the level of detailing and innovative solutions found onboard this series.Mengi Yay Yachts is somewhat of a conglomerate and has a number of partnerships and small subsidiary companies around Turkey, Ramazan explained.Rather than outsourcing and utilising external manufacturers, Mengi Yay develops and manufactures its solutions in-house.

One such solution is with storage; La Vie offers much more than would be expected on a sub 499 GT, or suspected when walking onboard.Ingenious storage points are found both aft and forward, are hydraulically operated and can be closed flushed to the hull and superstructure.La Vie boasts an interior that’s fresh and contemporary. Leonardo Santi Design was the studio behind her styling, and opted for a light muted palette that lends her a calm, soothing air.

She has plenty of social space both inside and out on the deck, with a number of lounging and dining areas for guests to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.
