Mengi Yay captured worldwide attention this year with a series of impressive launches and when it stole the limelight in the recent blockbuster Glass Onion: A Knives out Mystery, which was set onboard its 45-metre superyacht Aquarius.
The luxury yacht builder is currently working on eight projects, the largest of which is the Mengi Yay Virtus Explorer XP 50m+. The explorer measuring more than 50-metre is being built on speculation at the Mengi Yay facility in Tuzla, Istanbul, with delivery slated for 2025.Mengi Yay is constructing the superyacht to a design by VYD Studio, which conceived both the exterior and interior styling of the Mengi Yay Virtus Explorer XP 50m+. She’s expected to sit just below the 500 GT mark and offer accommodation for as many as 10 guests and nine crew. The first renderings of her interior spaces reveal a chic contemporary design, with bold, organic shapes and patterns throughout. The centre-piece of her main saloon is a cluster of teardrop settees, which lend the space an informal atmosphere.
Thanks to large floor-to-ceiling windows, both port and starboard, the main saloon is filled with natural light and boasts unparalleled views.Forward of the saloon is a formal dining area, complete with an oval 12-person dining table, which sits directly below an elegant, modern chandelier. VYD Studio ensured unity onboard, and the suites onboard Mengi Yay Virtus Explorer XP 50m+ follow the same design brief. Her master is set to be sublime: forward-facing with a centreline king-size bed and an expanse of curved glazing that leads onto a private foredeck.
